Position Overview
Reality Design Lab (https://reality.design) is seeking a skilled WebXR Engineer to contribute to an innovative open-source WebXR Browser application development project.
Contract-based role focusing on WebXR browser development with emphasis on HoloKit compatibility and ARKit integration.
Qualified candidates should have demonstrable experience in WebXR development and a strong foundation in computer science principles. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of web-based extended reality experiences while contributing to the open-source community.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop iOS-based WebXR browser using Swift to wrap around WebView
- Implement ARKit data injection from app into the webpage through WebView
- Implement native Stereoscopic View for HoloKit with Low Latency Tracking
- Create modern TypeScript WebXR polyfill following W3C WebXR standards
- Develop and implement App Clip interface with cross-platform (iOS and Android) compatibility
- Prepare comprehensive documentation and tutorials
- Create a series of sample open-source projects demonstrating WebXR capabilities on HoloKit. Create an portfolio website, like: https://engine.needle.tools/samples/
- Contribute to open-source WebXR ecosystem
